CHAPTER 1: Romance & Nature
Our customers and our jeweller talked at length about this romantically complex project. As well as discussing the technical and aesthetic aspects of the project, our customers talked about more personal aspects of their lives. A deep desire to give meaning emanates from this project. Through these creations, we see a clear desire to make the jewel their own and to match their personality, as well as a desire for the jewel to complement that of the other. Monsieur is American and Mexican, and Madame American of Norwegian descent. Both are frequent travelers, moving from country to country for both personal and professional reasons.

Through these creations, we see a clear desire to make the jewel their own and to match their personality, as well as a desire for the jewel to complement that of the other. Madame wanted a bold, romantic engagement ring that would complement her wedding ring, but above all, that would look just like her. The engagement ring is in 18-carat yellow gold and features a magnificent 0.73-carat Sri Lankan pear sapphire, two sapphires and two Afghan tourmalines. The wedding band is also in 18-carat yellow gold, with two tourmalines and a sapphire. Our client wanted to highlight her creative personality and his shared love of nature. She appreciates creativity in all its forms of expression; art, painting, mosaics, music through the violin and harp, gardening... Her engagement ring and wedding band were therefore naturally designed with a floral charm, featuring a lotus flower-shaped bezel housing a teardrop-shaped stone, Norwegian rosemaling motifs in reference to her grandmother, intersecting lines like her family and origins...An admirer of Alfons Mucha's work, our customer also wanted to highlight the Art Nouveau artistic movement in the features of her rings.
Monsieur wanted a wedding ring that looked more like a signet ring. The ring is in cambered 18-carat palladium-plated white gold with a hammered, brushed finish. In the center of the ring is a magnificent 1.38-carat oval Sri Lankan sapphire in a closed setting. Above and below this beautiful blue gem are 4 blue/green Afghan tourmalines in an angular closed setting, reminiscent of Madame's rings. With this creation, the idea was to express her love of nature and the mountain as a mine where gems reveal themselves on a rough, hollowed-out wall. The customer also wanted an art-deco feel, with geometric lines and textures, and a reference to his favorite J.R.R. Tolkiens work, The Lord of the Rings. Gems in blue/green tones to echo the color of his eyes, but also that of the ocean he regularly crosses on his travels...
Through these three jewelry creations, each of them has succeeded in revealing facets of their own history and personality, while at the same time highlighting all the complementarities of their shared history and the love they have for each other.
