SILVER 925 THOUSANDTHS

925 silver, also known as sterling silver, is made up of 92.5% silver and 7.5% other metals, such as copper, to reinforce it. Silver has a silver color, as its name suggests. The main advantage of silver is its much lower price than gold. Although the color strongly resembles that of 18-carat white gold and 950 platinum, silver is a very different metal. Indeed, it does not age in the same way, as it will tend to darken over time due to oxidation and scratch more easily in everyday use. 925 silver is widely used for costume jewelry. For bridal jewelry, 18-carat gold is generally preferred, as it has a much longer life and greater luster.
